最小限住宅 5坪の家 Kota
明治24年に建てられた土蔵造りの「蔵」の再生と活用
國本建築堂が今回挑戦した事
それは5坪という建坪に建つ朽ちてしまった蔵の改修工事。
この最小限の面積にどのくらいの可能性があるのか、
暮らしに必要な広さとは、という事を考える実験を行いました。
これは「５坪で十分です」という事をお伝えしたいのではなく、この広さを体感していただき、改めて自分に必要な空間とはどのくらいだろうと考えていただきたい
広さだけでなく、なぜそれが必要なのか無いとどうなってしまうのか、維持していくのは大変ではないのか、そんなお話が皆様と出来るのではないかと思います。
国際的にSDGsが掲げられ、これからの住宅づくりは、限りある資源の中に、使い捨てではなく、持続可能であるという事が重要だと考えます。
後世に残して行くことのできる、環境にもご自身にも優しい家づくりを考えみること。
本当の意味での、豊かな暮らしなのかもしれません。

Reviving and Repurposing a Traditional Earthen Storehouse Built in 1891
What Kunimoto Architecture Undertook in This Project
This project was the renovation of a deteriorated earthen storehouse—kura—standing on a footprint of just 5 tsubo (approximately 16.5 square meters).
Our challenge was to explore how much potential such a minimal space could hold, and to question: What is the amount of space truly necessary for living?
This is not an attempt to claim that “5 tsubo is enough.” Rather, we want people to physically experience this compact scale and reflect on how much space they personally need.
Not only how much space, but why that space is necessary—what would happen without it, how difficult it is to maintain—these are the kinds of conversations we hope to have with others.
As the world embraces the principles of the SDGs, we believe that the future of housing should focus not on disposable use but on sustainability, within the constraints of our limited resources.
We encourage people to consider building homes that are gentle on both the environment and themselves—homes that can be passed down to future generations.
That may be what true richness in living really means.
