昨日広島県廿日市市の中本造林さんの工場を見学させていただきました。
中本造林さんは広島県内外の約2000ヘクタールの山林で、その地域の特性に配慮しながら植林し『再生可能な森づくり』を目指されている会社さんです。
焼杉を主力商品とされていて、國本建築堂でも焼杉や杉の外壁を採用させていただいています。
今回は工場を見学させていただく事と、商品開発についてのご相談にお伺いしました。
見学当日の日付がふられた製材待ちの杉の丸太。
木の良い香りが漂ってきそうですね。
この天日干しの風景は圧巻でした。
未だに全て手作業でされていて、大変な労力と手間暇がかかっていることを知りました。
今回の工場での見学の随所に人の手と目で判断しなければならない作業があり、機械化が進んでいるとはいえ大変な手間をかけて製品を作られていることに言葉が出ませんでした。
背景の山の景色と相まって本当に建築のような美しさのある佇まいでした。
毎日自社工場の一角で機械の刃物の目立てをされています。
製材にはよく切れる刃物は必須という事で、目立てを外部に委託されている工場が多いなか、中本造林さんは全て自社で管理をされていました。
他にも工場内部の設備や焼き板を焼く様子なども見せていただきましたが、
設備の写真の掲載はNGという事でしたので、控えさせていただいています。
とても丁寧に隅々までご説明頂いて工場の様子や中本造林さんの大切にされている拘り等が分かり大変感銘を受けました。
今回はカラー展開のご相談や特注寸法のご相談などいろいろお話をさせていただけました。
今後の商品展開もとても楽しみです。
We toured the factory of Nakamoto Zorin yesterday.
Nakamoto Zorin is a company that aims to “create regenerative forests” by planting trees in about 2,000 hectares of forest in and around Hiroshima Prefecture while taking into consideration the characteristics of each region.
Yakisugi is the main product, and we also uses Yakisugi and cedar exterior walls.
This time, I would like to visit the factory and ask about product development.
This sun-dried scenery was a masterpiece.
I learned that everything is still done by hand, and that it takes a lot of effort and time.
Throughout the tour of the factory this time, there are tasks that must be judged by human hands and eyes. I did.
Even though mechanization is progressing, I couldn’t say a word about the great amount of time and effort that went into making the products.
Coupled with the scenery of the mountains in the background, it was a truly architectural beauty.
They are sharpening the blades of machines in a corner of our factory every day.
A knife that cuts well is essential for sawing, so while many factories outsource the sharpening, Nakamoto Zorin managed everything in-house.
They also showed us the equipment inside the factory and how to burn cedar.
It was not good to post photos of the equipment, so I refrain from doing so.
I was very impressed by the detailed explanation of the factory and the particulars that Nakamoto Zorin values.
This time,ｗe are able to talk about various things such as consultation on color development and consultation on custom dimensions.
We are very much looking forward to future product development.
